From 6 April 2020, property owners must inform HMRC of any Capital Gains Tax liabilities using an online service and pay the amounts due within 30 days of selling the property.
The changes only apply to UK residents disposing of a UK residential property, and doesn't apply if the residential property is the person's home which has been solely used as a private residence during the time it was owned.
